A British Colony until 1973, The Bahamas is an independent country made up of 700 islands. It is now one of the wealthiest countries in the West Indies dues to tourism and offshore banking.

Though blessed with tourism-friendly landscape, the economy of The Bahamas has shrunk at an average pace since 2007. Weakening tourism, banking and construction greatly contributed to this. The government has to boost the country’s key economic strengths in order to minimize the effects.
