The British Indian Ocean Territory is a cluster of islands under the United Kingdom. Only the largest island, named Diego Garcia, is inhabited and is host to a joint UK-US naval support facility. The island has no native inhabitants anymore, as they were relocated to the Mauritius before the base facilities were built.
As all of the economic activities are directed to the Diego Garcia Island, the only sources of income in the cluster consist of construction activities to support the military facilities, and small fishing and sugarcane plantation facilities. No other industry exists.
Areas or industries that may require interim power plants:
- Construction Industry
- Utility Power Industry
As the military facilities expand, more power is needed to support construction. Existing power grids may not be able to provide the required power. Altaaqa Global can deliver energy solutions for construction operations. Available rental power plants can provide the necessary electricity as permanent facilities are being built.
